Cumberland Fiber Works Mystery Knit Along #17

Our 2026 Mystery Knit-along is here! You will receive the yarn in the mail and the clues will come by email. We will include any tips we think of while making the project and you can call, email or drop in if you have questions. Order early to help insure yarn arrives before the first clue on Friday June 19th.

Heather has created 3 different colorways using Cumberland Fiber Works DK-weight "Dance" base, hand-dyed right here on the Cumberland Plateau. Dance is an 85% superwash merino with 15% nylon blend. The extrafine merino wool makes this yarn luxuriously soft and bouncy for next to skin comfort. A little nylon is added for extra durability.

The main factor determining the quality of merino wool is its softness, which depends upon the fineness of the fibers. This yarn uses extrafine merino (19.5 microns) which results in a super-soft yarn that feels gentle against the skin. Customers who have used this yarn rave about it. 

The Mystery Knit-along kit includes 3 skeins of hand-dyed yarn and the pattern. There will be 4 clues and a second optional project with 4 check-ins to help encourage you to finish the second project, if you choose to do it as well.

You will need a US3 or US4, 16 or 20 inch circular needle, and a US4 for small circumferences (double points, magic loop or 2 circular needle methods). You may need to adjust needle sizes to obtain the gauges of 23 stitches to 4 inches. You will also want stitch markers, a darning needle and blocking supplies.

This project will include videos for the slightly more complicated stitches. There will be a section with a chart. This Knit-along promises to be a whole lot of fun. We look forward to having you join us.
