Generally speaking, knitting strips and joining them is not so bad. But if you?d like to try something new, that eliminates seaming and the sometimes bulky seams that result, learn the SLIDING LOOP! Technically, it's an intarsia technique, but much, much easier to learn and so much fun to do! Our project will be a simple pillow top, but it will look all but simple. Color-changing yarns will do all the work and create a fabric of panels that can be used in many ways. I will show a vest option that is knit in one piece using the sliding loop technique, with options for cables and other stitch patterns that can be applied at the knitter's discretion.
